Cingular says that you can link to their homepage — But ONLY if you’re nice.
Cingular says that you can have a link to their site. Nice of them to permit us to do so no?
But only if you do the following:
Only link to the homepage, not any sub-pages or directories.
You must be nice. That’s right, you must be NICE to them, you can’t portray Cingular in a derogatory manner when linking.
In other words, I can’t do this:
Cingular Sucks
OR this:
Cingular has rip-off rates and always drops your call
OR this:
Cingular Store Locator
Oh, and I certainly can’t do this:
Cingular’s Store Locator doesn’t work very well
Stupid linking policies are usually not used these days, but leave it to some paranoid corporate head to get nervous and bring them back.
It’s things like these that make me loose my faith in the USA.
Note: This article is not intended to bash/insult/hinder/damage Cingular’s reputation. Just to point out the paradox that illogical linking policies are not always the best choice. (…and they don’t make sense either.)
